How to add an assessment node in a project
- In the Project, users can add nodes in the course outline in the Outline mode and Author mode
- To add using Outline mode,
- Switch to Outline mode
- Click the ( + ) icon on a content/folder node to add a new subnode.
- The Add Node modal opens
- To add using Author mode,
- Switch to Author mode
- Click the ( ⋮ ) icon on the content/folder node to view more options.
- Click + Add Node to add a new subnode.
- The Add Node modal opens
Note: On the Add Node model, the default node type selected is “Content Screen”. Depending on your last selection, the option is retained.
- On the Add Node model, users can create various types of nodes.
- Select the node type as Assessment.
- Input Name of Assessment.
- To create a blank assessment:
- Click Add
- To associate an existing assessment:
- Click Select Assessment
- Choose an Assessment from the Library.
- Users can also use the search features to find the Assessment.
- To preview an Assessment, click Preview
- Click Confirm
Note: Users can remove the associated assessment from the node by clicking the delete icon next to the associated assessment.
- On the Add Node modal, click Confirm to create the assessment node.
- Alternatively, users can also reuse an existing assessment node from the LOR.
How to edit an assessment in author mode
- In the Project, select the assessment node from the outline to open it in the author mode.
- Alternatively, users can also switch to Author mode and select the assessment node.
- On the Details tab of the Edit Assessment page, users can edit the information that was added during creation, including:
- Info
- Assessment Name - enter the name of the Assessment
- Instructions- add details & instructions about the assessment (Based on the tenant's configuration, users can use Patterns and Widgets)
- click +Instructions to add a description using the Advance Editor (rich text editing options along with media, patterns and widgets)
- To maximize the editor and view it in full screen mode, click the fullscreen icon.
- Click Save Instruction
- After adding the instructions users can perform the following actions:
- Expand / Collapse
- Edit
- Delete

- Grade
- Maximum Point - (Auto Calculated) Maximum Points is the aggregate total score of all questions in the respective assessment.
- Grade Type - Grading scheme to be applied for respective assessments and display grades.
- Non Graded
- Point
- Percentage
- Letter Grade
- Pass/Fail
- Grade Category - Organizes assessments to allow instructors as well as students to preview aggregate grade total basis category.
- Assessment Group (default)
- + Add Category - to create a new Grade Category
- Category Name - enter the name of the category
- Click Add
- Grading Method - Allows to choose a grading scheme to be applied for assessments.
- Add Rubric - this button opens all the rubrics available in the course for selection. Only a single rubric can be added at a time.
- Select the rubric and click Confirm to associate it with the assessment
- To remove the associated rubric, click Remove
- Add Rubric - this button opens all the rubrics available in the course for selection. Only a single rubric can be added at a time.
- Submission
- Attempts - Number of Attempts
- Grading Calculation - Allows to choose grading scheme to be applied for assessments
- Highest
- Latest
- Average
- Lowest
- First Attempt
- Time Limit - Total Time Limit in Minutes for students to complete/submit the assessment
- Question Behavior
- Shuffle Questions - Allows random order of questions to be presented to students.
- Shuffle Answers - Randomly order the choices for every choice-based question present in the assessment.
- Show Correct Answers - Display Correct Answer for questions once assessments/question attempt is completed by students.
- Presentation
- Paging - Representation of questions in assessment preview to students.
- All Questions
- One Question Per Page
- Access Previous Question - enables students to access previous questions
- Paging - Representation of questions in assessment preview to students.
- Availability
- Due Date - Set Availability of Assessment for students. (Optional)
- Info
- On the Questions tab authors can create, edit and delete different types of questions including:
- Click the Metadata icon to associate the assessment with the following metadata
- Click Save
Note: In the case of the reused assessment from LOR, in the author mode, the assessment cannot be edited. Users can preview such assessments in preview mode.
