How to Add Taxonomy to Objects
By using the metadata tagging in Author mode, users can now easily apply metadata to their learning objects so they stay well organized and are always available to utilize. The metadata section contains KVP, Taxonomy, and Tag tabs.
- In the Project, users can add Metadata to the learning object.
- To add Metadata using Author mode, Switch to Author.
- Click the Metadata icon available in right side of the menu bar in the project dashboard.
- The Metadata window appears.
- Click Taxonomy.
- Click Add Taxonomy.
- To maximize the editor and view it in full screen mode, click the full screen.
- Taxonomy can be added using Search or Browse functionality.
- Using Search:
- Input keywords into the search panel.
- By default, search is across all root taxonomies
- To restrict the search within selected root nodes:
- Click the Filter icon.
- Select the required nodes.
- Click Apply.
- Select the required root nodes and leaf nodes using the Checkbox.
- You can clear the selection, or clear the Filters applied depending upon the requirement.
- Click Add, to add the selection.
- Click Save button to save the record details associated to the object.
- Using Browse:
- In the browse tab, you can view the lists of all root nodes available in the system.
- Choose any root node to display the complete hierarchy of the selected root node.
- Expand required hierarchy & choose any of the nodes.
- Additionally, a search box is available which will help you search through the hierarchy of the selected root node.
Note: Taxonomy already associated will be checked & disabled.
- Select the required nodes using the Checkbox.
- Click Add, to add the selection.
- Click Save button to save the record details associated to the object.
