How to Create, Edit & Manage Local Patterns
- the Project Dashboard, click on the Project Navigation menu and select Patterns.
- On the Patterns page, users can create, edit and delete the custom patterns.
- To create, click Create New Pattern which opens the Pattern Editor.
- To maximize the editor or exit the fullscreen mode, click the fullscreen icon or exit fullscreen icon respectively.
- Enter the Pattern Name.
- In the Author mode, create the pattern using the Advance Editor (rich text editing options along with media, patterns and widgets)
Note: As Frost restricts the use of widgets inside another widget, if widgets are added in the pattern then it won't be listed in the patterns to be used inside the widget’s editor.
- In the Preview mode, preview the pattern in various screen sizes to test the interactivity, cross-references, etc.
- Click Save to create the new pattern.
- Click the pattern name to preview the updated pattern.
- The following actions are available for the local patterns:
- Edit - to update all the pattern
- Delete - to remove the pattern
- Make Global - to make the local pattern available to be reused in other courses.
- Active - Makes the pattern available in the project
- Inactive - Makes the pattern unavailable in the project.
Note: Making a pattern global will allow other users to reuse it in different projects. This action cannot be reversed. The default Global Theme will be applied to the Patterns made Global. When global patterns are reused in the course, the course theme will be applied to it.
