How to Create Folders in the Course Outline
- In the Project, users can manage the Course Outline in the Outline mode and Author mode
- In the Outline mode, click the Add Folder icon to add a root folder in the course outline.
- Alternatively, on the Outline, click the “+” icon next to any folder to bring up the Add Node modal.
- To bring up the Add Node modal in Author mode, click on the More ( ⋮ ) icon on the folder node and select + Add Node.
Note: All types of nodes can be created inside a folder, including a folder. But a folder cannot be created inside any other node.
- Select the node type as Folder and enter the Name of Folder.
- Additionally, on the Metadata tab users can add the KVP, Tags, and Taxonomy.
- Click Add to create an empty folder.
- Alternatively, you can add an existing folder from the LOR by clicking the Reuse Existing Content button.
Note: On navigating to Author or Preview mode from the top navigation, users will need to select a node to view its content.
All types of nodes can be created inside a folder, including a folder. Users cannot create or reorder a hierarchy under content pages or any other node type.
Users can continue performing actions or work on other nodes of the Course Outline while one node action(add, delete, reuse, edit) is in process.
