Managing the Outline of a Project
- In the Project, users can manage the Course Outline in the Outline mode and Author mode
- In the Outline mode, users can perform the following actions on the course outline:
- Drag and Reorder - the drag icon (grid of six little dots) allows to drag content nodes and reorder them within the outline
- Lock/Unlock - the lock or unlock icon implies or revokes complete freezing of the node respectively i.e. no updates (content, metadata, reorder, add, edit, delete) will be possible
- Node State - the state of node is reference to LOR (clicking the icon displays the usage details along with the link(s) to view the related projects)
- Node Type - The type of node will be mentioned next to the node name. It can a folder, content, assessment, URL, etc.
- Nodes - the name of the node is a clickable link that allows to edit content pages in the editor. (non-clickable for folders)
- Duplicate - to duplicate the node (duplicated object is added as a local object).
- Metadata - to add the KVP, Tags and Taxonomy
- Add - the “+” icon allows to create new nodes under a folder
- Comment - the comment icon allows to add comments to the node
- More - Click the More ( ⋮ ) icon on the content/folder node to view more options to perform the following:
- Settings - the settings icon allows you to edit node information (name)
- Delete - the delete icon allows you to delete nodes
- Status - the available status listed can be assigned to the node (not available for folders)
- Not Started (default)
- Authoring
- Copy Edit
- Review
- Final
- In the Author mode, users can perform the following actions on the outline in the left panel:

- Comments - allows adding comments to the node
- Metadata - to add the KVP, Tags and Taxonomy
- + Add Node - allows creating new nodes under a folder
- Duplicate - to duplicate the node (duplicated object is added as a local object)
- Status - the available status listed can be assigned to the node (not available for folders)
- Not Started (default)
- Authoring
- Copy Edit
- Review
- Final
- Settings - allows to edit node information (name) and manage metadata tagging
- Delete - the delete icon allows you to delete nodes
Note:
- On navigating to Author or Preview mode from the top navigation, users will need to select a node to view its content.
- Users can continue performing actions or work on other nodes of the Course Outline while one node action(add, delete, reuse, edit) is in process.
- The Duplicate Node feature can be viewed only if it is enabled by the Super Admin.
