How to Create a Resource Node
- In the Project, users can manage the Course Outline in the Outline mode and Author mode
- In the Outline mode, click the “+” icon next to any node to bring up the Add Node modal.
- To bring up the Add Node modal in Author mode, click on the More ( ⋮ ) icon on any node and select + Add Node.
Note: Default node type selected is “Content Screen”. Depending upon your last selection, the option is retained.
- On the Add Node Modal, to create a new Resource Node configure the following:
- Select node type as Resource
- Enter the Name of the Resource.
- Select the Resource Type from the options:
- URL – to input a URL value.
- External Tool – to input the LTI link that the node should point to.
- File from Asset Library – to choose an asset from the project repository.
- Provide input as required depending on the Resource Type selected.
- Teacher only - After publish to LMS this will not be visible to students automatically.
- On
- Off (default)
Note: Frost does not serve the LTI links and hence the LTI link will be visible in the LMS once authentication (shared secret, consumer key) is provided.
- Additionally, on the Metadata tab users can add the KVP, Tags and Taxonomy.
- Click Add.
- Alternatively, you can also reuse an existing resource node from the LOR.
Note: On navigating to Author or Preview mode from the top navigation, users will need to select a node to view its content.
All types of nodes can be created inside a folder, including a folder. Users cannot create or reorder a hierarchy under content pages or any other node type.
Users can continue performing actions or work on other nodes of the Course Outline while one node action(add, delete, reuse, edit) is in process.
