How to add a Discussion Forum in the Course Outline

1. In the Project, users can manage the Course Outline in the Outline mode and Author mode
2. In the Outline mode, click the “+” icon next to any node to bring up the Add Node modal. 
3. To bring up the Add Node modal in Author mode, click on the More ( ⋮ ) icon on any node and select + Add Node.

Note: Default node type selected is “Content Screen”. Depending upon your last selection, the option is retained. 

4. On the Add Node Modal, to create a new Forum Node configure the following:
   • Select node type as Forum
   • Input the Name of the Forum.
   • To create a blank discussion forum:
     • Click Confirm
   • To associate an existing forum:
     • Click on Select Forum 
     • Choose a Forum from the library.
     • To preview a Forum, click on the preview button alongside the forum name. 
     • After selecting a forum, click on Confirm to associate the forum to the node.
5. Click Add.
6. Alternatively, you can also reuse an existing forum node from the LOR.

Note: On navigating to Author or Preview mode from the top navigation, users will need to select a node to view its content.

All types of nodes can be created inside a folder, including a folder. Users cannot create or reorder a hierarchy under content pages or any other node type.

Users can continue performing actions or work on other nodes of the Course Outline while one node action(add, delete, reuse, edit) is in process.
