How to edit Hidden LOR Objects in the Course
An indication is added in the Course Outline for Hidden LOR Objects to help the users recognize the objects which are published in LOR and are hidden. When a user Duplicates courses which include hidden LOR objects with the "Retain Global Reference" settings, on publish/republish, these objects also get updated in LOR as well as in all the other courses where the object is reused. Click to read more about the different states of nodes in the course outline.
Note: When a course is published/republished the nodes which are not marked to be Global are published as Hidden Objects in the LOR. These objects are hidden in LOR and cannot be searched or reused. Whereas the nodes marked Global while publishing are searchable and can be reused from the LOR.
- From the Project, users can manage the course outline of the course.
- The hidden LOR objects can be identified using the Hidden LOR Object (
) icon placed beside the nodes.
Note: The hidden LOR objects have references in LOR, hence, updating a hidden LOR object and publishing the course will reflect and update the changes in LOR as well as all the other courses where the object is used.
- To view the usage details of the Hidden LOR Object, click on the (
) icon
Note: If the object is having references in any projects, the list of projects will be displayed. Clicking the project will navigate the users to the project which the Hidden LOR Object is linked.
- To edit the node, users can select the node either in the Outline mode or Author mode.
- Select Dismiss to dismiss the hidden LOR object message.
- Using the editor, users can edit/author the content.
- Click Save to save the changes.
- To edit the node, select the settings icon.
- Select Save.
Note: On navigating to Author or Preview mode from the top navigation, users will need to select a node to view its content. Users can continue performing actions or work on other nodes of the Course Outline while one node action(add, delete, reuse, edit) is in process.
