How to Create a Tool Provider
- Navigate to the Admin platform by clicking the horizontal ellipses at the top-left corner of the screen.
- From the Admin dashboard, select the LTI drop-down and click the Tool Providers option.
Note: Tool provider allows you to register and keep track of all the LTI providers used while developing your content.
- Click the Create Tool Provider to open up the Create Tool Provider form.
- Fill the necessary details such as:
- Tool Name
- LTI Version
- LTI 1.1
- Support deep linking (content item selection)
- LTI 1.3
- LTI 1.1
Note: Depending on the LTI Version selected, the fields in the form will change.
- On selecting the LTI 1.1 option, the following fields will be displayed:
- Content Selection (launch) URL - If support for deep linking (content item selection) is enabled for LTI 1.1
- Tool Domain
- Custom Params
- LTI Key
- Secret Key
Note: For the resource link request message claim type, the resource ID is obligatory, unlike the deep linking request message type.
- On selecting the LTI 1.3 option, the following fields will be displayed:
- Message Type
- LtiDeepLinkingRequest (default)
- LtiResourceLinkRequest
- Tool Redirect URIs
- Custom Params
- Login URL
- Launch URL
- Public Key Type
- Public Key
- JWK URL
- Platform Public Key/Platform JWK URL
- Audience/Issuer
- Tool Keyset URL
- Access Token URL
- Authorization URL
- Message Type
Note: Depending on the selected LTI Version, the displayed field information has to be filled by the users.
- Click the Save button to create the Tool Provider in the system.
- A notification will be displayed on successful tool creation.
