How to access and add the LOR objects in Canvas Course
- Login into Canvas as an admin user.
- LTI Setup in Canvas
- Navigate to Admin section
- Select your account
- Select Developer Keys
- Under developer keys, create new LTI Key
- Fill out the following details to register LTI Tool in Canvas
- Target Link URI: – Copy LAUNCH URL from LTI Platform table in admin
- OpenID Connect Initiation Url: – Copy OPENID LOGIN URL from LTI Platform table in admin
- Redirect URIs: – Copy LAUNCH URL from LTI Platform table in admin
- JWK Method: – Select Public JWK URL
- Public JWK URL: – Copy PLATFORM KEYSET URL from LTI Platform table in admin
- LTI Advantage Services:
- Select All Options
- Additional Settings:
- Icon URL: – Copy LAUNCH URL from LTI Platform table in admin
- Text: – Title
- Add Link Selection in Placements
- Link Selection Configuration:
- Target Link URI: – Copy LAUNCH URL from LTI Platform table in admin
- Select Message Type: – LtiDeepLinkingRequest
- Selection Width and Height: – Optional
- Click Save
Note: Newly created tool will be visible with necessary details/parameters/values required to fill in Frost.
- Edit LTI Platform in Frost
- Copy Client Id from Canvas Developer Keys to LTI Platform
- Audience/Issuer: – https://canvas.instructure.com
- Client Id: – Client ID(from Canvas) eg it is number format
- JWT Key Set URL: – https://learningmate.instructure.com/api/lti/security/jwks
- Access Token URL: – https://learningmate.instructure.com/login/oauth2/token
- Authorization URL: – https://learningmate.instructure.com/api/lti/authorize
Note: Client ID is the numerical value listed under the Details column of the Developer Keys listing page.
- Add External app through client id in Canvas
- Navigate to Settings.
- Under the Apps tab, select View App Configurations
- Click “+ App” to add a new app
- Select Configuration Type as By Client ID
- Enter the Client ID and click Submit
- On the prompt to install the tool, click Install.
- Add LOR Objects to the Course Module
- Navigate to the Course Modules
- Add External tool
- Select the configured tool
- Select a LOR object and click Add Selected
- Finally, click Add Item to add the LOR objects to the course module.
Note: All the objects present in LO Repository will be available to be inserted in the course module.
