How to Publish or Republish a Project
- From the Project Dashboard, you can publish and republish a project.
- Click the Publish button.
- A Publish Settings pop-up will be displayed with 2 options-
publish the project with all its nodes private or to make them public in the LOR i.e. global.- Publishing with slider “OFF”, just publishes the course to the LOR.
- Turning the slider “ON” displays the TOC hierarchy, with an option to mark nodes to be made public (visible & searchable) in the LOR.
- Also, a Notes section is available for the users to add notes before publish or republish which will be visible in the Publish Log. The note can be of maximum 100 characters.
- On the Publish Settings pop-up click Publish.
Note: Publishing a course, creates a .fcd (frost course designer) package in L/OR.
- The Publish Log is available next to the Publish button and will only be visible to the user with permission to Publish. This log displays details including:
- Date & By – Published Date and User Name
- Status – In Queue, Processing, Completed, Failed
- Note – Publish Note
- Publish Settings – This is the setting used to publish, i.e. the course is published privately or by marking some nodes as public.
- Course – published privately
- Course & TOC – some nodes are public.
- Time Taken – Total time taken to complete the Publish process.
Note: If a course is already under a Publish/Republish process, republish cannot be initiated till the 1st process completes.
- Completion of the publishing process is indicated by an email confirmation to the users registered email address.
- If the TOC nodes in a course have been published publicly to the LOR as individual global objects, will start showing an indicator beside them on the TOC. This indicates that these nodes are now global objects and are being referenced from the LOR.
- Once published, the Publish button is replaced by Republish, indicating that any new changes will need to be republished to the LOR. Republish overwrites the existing .fcd package in the LOR as well as any public objects reused from / pushed to LOR.
- Completion of the republishing process is indicated by an email confirmation to the users registered email address.
Note: Similar to Publish, Republish settings can be applied on the TOC nodes.
If a course is already under a Publish/Republish process, republish cannot be initiated till the previous process completes. On the Project Dashboard, the loader on the Publish Log icon indicates that publish/republish is processing.
