How to Filter Objects in LOR
- Navigate to the LO Repository.
Note: Filters can be used independently, in combination with other filters or with a keyword. Search between filters and keywords works using an “AND” search. The more filters that get added, the further refined the search results are.
- On the Learning Object Repository page, under the search panel the Filters are displayed.
- The various filters available are:
- To filter by Type, select one or more filters from the below mentioned:
- All - default selected, shows all object type
- Media - extends to:
- All - all media objects
- Image - all images in the LOR (physical & referenced)
- Audio - all audios in the LOR (physical & referenced)
- Video - extends to:
- All - all videos in the LOR (physical & referenced)
- In Repository - Pysically present videos
- Vimeo - all Vimeo videos in the LOR
- Kaltura - all Kaltura videos in the LOR
- Youtube - all Youtube videos in the LOR
- Document - extends to:
- All - all documents
- Document- all documents like doc in the LOR (physical & referenced)
- Worksheet - all worksheets like xls, xlsx.(physical & referenced)
- Presentation - all presentations ppt, pptx.(physical & referenced)
- PDFs - all PDF files (physical & referenced)
- Others - all other documents like txt, vtt, etc. in the LOR (physical & referenced)
- Course Package - Extends to:
- All - all course packages
- Frost Course (.fcd) - all the courses published from Designer
- Folder (.fld) - all folders published as global from Designer
- Online Course (imscc) - all IMSCC files directly uploaded in the LOR.
- Epub (epub) - all Epub files directly uploaded in the LOR.
- Gadget - all gadgets published from Designer or zip files uploaded in LOR and updated from Unidentified to Gadget type.
- Content - Extends to:
- All - content files
- Content Fragment - all content screens created in LOR to be used in Designer.
- Content Screen - all content screens published from Designer as global or HTML files directly uploaded in LOR.
- External Link - all external links created in the LOR
- External Tool - all external tools created in the LOR
- Assessments - Extends to:
- All -
- Assessment (.js) - all assessments published from Designer as global or any .js file uploaded in LOR
- Question (.js) - all questions published from any .js file uploaded in LOR
- Assessment (QTI) - all valid QTI 2.1 packages uploaded in LOR
- Assignments - All assignments published as public from Designer
- Forum - All forums published as public from Designer
- Unidentified - any file type unrecognized by LOR gets this type.
- To filter by Date, select one of the filters from the below mentioned:
- Any Modified Date (by entering a value in the On field)
- Last Modified Date (by filling up only Till field)
- Between a date range (filling up both On and Till fields)
- To choose a custom date, first, select the Last-Modified field and then proceed with choosing dates.
- To filter by Creator
- Choose any owner from the list of the owners who uploaded the objects using the search panel
- If multiple owners are added, the search is “OR” based.
- To filter by Metadata
- Select the tags, key-value pairs, and taxonomies as filtering attributes.
- It is an “AND” search between tag, taxonomy, KVP, and an “OR” search between multiple values within the same section.
- After selecting the metadata, click Done to filter the objects.
- To filter by License, select one of the filters from the below mentioned:
- Expired - filters out all objects where a KVP “License Valid Till” is applied and the expiration date has crossed.
- Active - filters out all objects where a KVP “License Valid Till” is applied and the expiration date has not exceeded.
- To filter by Usage on objects. There are 3 categories to choose from:
- High - fetch records with usage count from 30 and higher
- Medium - fetches records with usage count between 11 to 29
- Low - fetches records with a usage count of 10 or below
- To filter by Applications, choose the source applications integrated with LOR.

- The More filter contains the filter to find objects based on availability.
- By default, it is set to “Any”.
- Objects that exist physically in LOR can be filtered using the Physically in LOR option.
- Objects that exist as a reference can be filtered using the Referenced option.
- Once a filter has been applied and the results are displayed on the page, a button called Reset Filters will appear on the page.
- Click Reset Filter to reset the selection, and to display the default results on the LOR homepage.
- Click Save Search to save the selection to be used in future.
- Name the Saved Search
- Click Save.
