Tagging Objects to Any Level of the Taxonomy Hierarchy:
Authors can now tag objects/assets to the taxonomy at all levels in the hierarchy, including parent nodes (including the root) and leaf nodes.
The usage count of the taxonomy will be tracked against all levels of the hierarchy.
Users can select any taxonomy node, including the root, any parent, and leaves from the metadata (taxonomy) picker, both for Search and Browse.
This enables users to filter objects/assets in the LOR with nodes at any individual level of the hierarchy, improving specificity in retrieval.
The automatic selection of leaf nodes upon choosing a parent node has been discontinued; users must now individually select nodes using the picker.
Directly Tag Objects to Browsing Taxonomies:
When creating or uploading objects/assets into the LOR with taxonomy filters applied from the Browsing Taxonomy section, the selected taxonomy node will be automatically associated with the respective objects/assets.
Users can create and upload objects/assets directly from the individual menu options of the filtered Browsing Taxonomy node or use the provision at the top bar.
These associations reflect across applicable areas like metadata usage count, LOR object/asset creation, editing, and preview.
Movement of resources using Browsing Taxonomy: Users can now efficiently organize objects/assets in the LOR by moving them from one node to another through the Browsing Taxonomy. This involves updating the Taxonomy association by unlinking them from the source node and linking them to a destination node. The option to Move objects/assets appears once users apply filters through the Browsing Taxonomy and select one or more objects/assets from the resultant list.
Enable External Links from LOR to be Reused While Authoring:
Authors can now reuse External Links authored in the LOR across Frost (Designer and LOR) editors during the authoring process.
A new filter, 'External Link,' has been added under the 'Content' type of the respective picker across Frost editors.
This feature applies to various areas where the advanced editor is enabled, such as Content Screens, Templates, Widgets, Patterns, Assessment Instructions, Assignment and Forum Descriptions, and Content Fragments.
External Links updated/replaced from LOR will reflect on the course TOC upon refreshing the Folder or performing other activities.
The current issue where External Links updated or replaced from the LOR do not reflect in the editors is planned to be addressed in a future release.
Accessibility Checker (BETA):
Phase I of the Accessibility Checker has been introduced and integrated into all Designer and LOR editors.
Users can run the checker while authoring (on saved content) to identify and fix issues related to missing Alt Text in Images, missing descriptions in Audio, missing Closed Caption (CC) in Videos, and issues with Color Contrast.
Identified issues are presented sequentially through an overlay popup, allowing users to apply fixes directly from within the popup.
The checker covers the following categories in Phase I: Missing Alt Text in Images, Missing Description in Audio, Missing Closed Caption in Videos, and Issues with Color Contrast.
To verify if applied fixes have rendered the content accessible, the checker must be re-triggered, and content must be saved after applying fixes through the pop-ups.
External Tool Height & Width Updates:
While authoring External Tools, the placeholder block will now scale proportionally for better usability and readability.
Default empty placeholder dimensions are set at 150px height and 940px width, transforming to 528px height and 940px width upon selecting a registered tool.
Users can now see max/min height & width indications for External tool patterns.
Support has been extended to imports, exports, deep publishes, duplicates, and previews in both Frost and LMS.
Applicable to various areas where the full editor is enabled.
Enhanced Taxonomy Coverage Report with Taxonomy Associations:
The Taxonomy Coverage Report has been improved to include correlations of the selected nodes with one or more other taxonomy nodes added and published from Align.
The report provides a more detailed picture of relationships, including connections with both assets (covering both Designer and LOR) and other nodes in the same or different taxonomy.
Similar associations, such as Exact Match Of, Is Part Of, Is Peer Of, etc., with a node within the same hierarchy, will be consolidated together mirroring the structure of the Course Coverage Report.
