New Features
Bulk Metadata Tagging (In Course Outline)
- The TOC (Outline and Author mode) now has the ability to bulk tag (cascading) metadata from upper nodes to lower nodes in the hierarchy as part of the release (applicable only from individual Folders to their respective child nodes of all types).
- For Folder type nodes in the TOC, a link (Apply to child nodes) has been added to the metadata picker modal, which can only be activated when at least one KVP and/or Taxonomy node has been linked to the parent Folder.
- Before continuing, users would be able to select the specific children of the Folder, including the children of Subfolder(s), and the specific metadata (KVP and Taxonomy) associated with the parent Folder to cascade (all or selective) (Apply to selected).
- If the main Folder has subfolder structures, users can choose only the subfolder node(s) on the Apply metadata to child nodes interface and select Apply to child nodes of selected (instead of Apply to selected) to cascade the main parent Folder metadata to the subfolder's children.
- The programme would add (bulk tag or associate) the parent Folder's chosen Metadata to its chosen children with an implicit duplicate check, ensuring there was no redundant Metadata association (same Taxonomy node or Keys with the same Values) to the child.
- The system is set up to send emails upon successful or unsuccessful completion of the full bulk metadata tagging procedure.
Restriction in duplicate KVP association
Duplicate KVP entries (those with the same Key and Value as a pair) can no longer be associated with any objects or assets. This restriction was put in place to make it possible for the system to recognize and automatically ignore duplicate KVP entries.
Capability to associate Keys without Value
Users now have the option to associate blank Keys at the node level or with any pertinent objects or assets with the purpose of defining them later (applicable to Text and Select kinds only) (i.e., add Values later).
